“Make-up Jizo” is rare in Japan.
The color and design of makeup is different depending on the region.
Through trade with Kamigata(OSAKA), the culture of Kyoto was introduced to Touji area, and other events such as “Danjiri” and “Yakko Parade” are also held in the fall. You can feel its uniqueness and the culture that was transmitted through maritime transportation in the Seto Inland Sea.

Muneage hachimangu shrine was given the status of “Gousha” shrine and became the center of this region.
It is made entirely of zelkova wood, and the skill of the carvings on all sides are amazing.

It is said that the origin of the name “Muneage” is that when Empress Jingu stopped by Muneage in the past, she praised it as a beautiful view that made her heart clear.
Sampouin temple
This temple has a statue of “Fudo Myoo”, a standing statue of “Amida Nyorai”, “Jizo Bosatsu”, “Enmei Jizo”, etc. and has become an important presence in this region (Currently, it is not possible to visit inside)

From 9:30 to 10:45: Visit to 3 kinds of “Makeup Jizo statue” in Touji area.
10:45 to 11:45: Visit to “Muneage Hachimangu Shrine” and “Sampouin” temple in Touji area.
11:45: Move to JR Uno Station by car.
12:00: Arrive at JR Uno Station. -
