“Precious remains of which only two exist in Japan” Former Ajino Monopoly Bureau Yamada Branch
It was built in 1908 by the Ministry of Finance, which was in charge of themonopoly on salt, and was used to sell salt made in salt fields.
They were collected and sent across the country from nearby Yamada Port (registered tangible cultural property of the country).

Shiogama Shrine
When developing salt fields in 1838, it was solicited by Rikuzen Shiogama Shrine (Shiogama City, Miyagi Prefecture).
The current worship hall was completed in 1928 and was built with great care by craftsmen.
When you come here, you can feel the history of this place with the development of salt fields.

Nationally designated important cultural property
“The Nozaki Family Historic Residence”
The building and garden have been preserved as they were originally built, making this a typical private house on Sanyo Road.
You can learn not only about the architecture and gardens, but also about the furniture and salt.

After lunch, we will move to Kojima.
At that time, we will drive by private vehicle along the coast of this beautiful Seto Inland Sea.

    9:00: Meet English speaking guide at Uno Station. Move to Salt Industries by car.
    From 9:30 to 11:00: Partial factory tour and explanation of salt production.
    From 11:00 to 12:00: Visit to “”Shiogama Shrine”” and the former Ajino Sales Bureau YamadaBranch.
    12:00 to 13:15: Lunch.

    13:15: After lunch, drive to Kojima.
    14:15 to 15:45 : Explanation of the history and culture of the Nozaki family at “”the NozakiFamily Historic Residence”” (Includes experience of “”Old-fashioned salt making))
    15:45: Move to JR Kojima Station by car.
    16:00: Arrive at JR Kojima Station.
