Hiking at Mt. Ryuou with the experienced hiking guide.
Along the way, you’ll visit several of the Kannon statues on the “33 Pilgrimage Sites of Western Japan” and enjoy the spectacular views from small gaps as you head toward the top.
At the top, you can pass through the torii gate of Mt. Ryuou, visit “Ryuou Palace” and “Ryuou Stone”, and sit on a bench to fully enjoy the beauty of the Seto Inland Sea, the Seto Ohashi Bridge, the Mizushima Sea, and more.

Mt.Ryuou is located in Kojima town of Kurashiki City, in the southern part of Okayama Prefecture.
Nowadays, Kojima is famous as the origin town of the domestic jeans, but in ancient mythology,
it is said that it was born as the ninth island in Japan. It’s called “KIBI NO KOJIMA”
There are many mountains named “Ryuou” in Japan.
The name of “Ryuou” means the God of the rain and the God of the water.
Also, the mount of Ryuou in Kojima town named from the worshipped the king of dragon.
It is believed that this pilgrimage is good to refresh the body and mind, open the way for good health and longevity, and bring prosperity to the family.

09:00 Meet at the Kojima Civic Exchange center.
Walk to the trailhead of Mt. Ryuou (about 15 minutes)
From the trailhead, move to Asahi Kannon Hall while visiting the mini sacred of “33 Pilgrimage Sites of Western Japan”
Take a break while watching the spectacular view at the top (about 30 minutes)
Move to Kojima Civic Exchange Center (go down the mountain)
11:00 Arrive at the Kojima Civic Exchange Center. Upon arrival, you freely disbanded.

Precautions
・Please prepare shoes suitable for hiking.
・You may get thirsty while hiking, so please prepare your own drinks in advance.
・Please note that there are portable toilets near Asahi Kannon-do, but there are no toilets near the top.
・There are some steep slopes, so please be sure to follow the guide’s instructions.
・The tour may be canceled in case of the bad weather or mountain conditions. In that case, we will contact you in advance.

・Please bring appropriate drinks.
